SLS Process

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is an additive manufacturing process which utilizes a bed of powder and a laser to build parts a layer at a time to create a 3D part. The laser traces each part on the surface of the powder to selectively fuse it into a solid. That powder bed then drops down by one layer thickness and a new layer of powder is applied on top of the now solidified cross section. Again the laser traces the part to fuse the powder and adhere it to the previous layer. The process is repeated, “growing” a part vertically until the build is complete.
